StadiumSport US reaches new milestones following a year of growth

Since launching StadiumSport US, our goal has been to build a comprehensive online resource covering sports stadiums and major competitions across the United States.

Over the past 12 months, the platform has continued to evolve with a growing sports database, significant new features and encouraging growth during the FIFA World Cup 2026. Many of these enhancements are also laying the foundations for the upcoming StadiumSport 2.0 platform, which will soon be introduced across both StadiumSport US and Austadiums.

A growing sports database

One of the biggest milestones has been the continued expansion of the StadiumSport US database.

The platform now features every current stadium used by major professional sports teams across the United States, together with venues across Canada and Mexico. Today, the database includes:

  • 256 stadiums
  • 13,203 sporting events
  • 192 professional sports teams
  • 118 cities
  • 12 major sports competitions

Collectively, those events have attracted more than 243 million spectators since the site launched last year, highlighting the incredible scale of professional sport across North America.

To put that into perspective, Austadiums, Australia’s leading stadium and events platform, has been operating since 2003 and currently includes just over 31,000 events with a combined attendance of 415 million. Despite launching less than two years ago, StadiumSport US has already surpassed 13,000 events and 243 million in total attendance, demonstrating just how large the North American sporting landscape is.

The database will continue to grow as additional stadiums, competitions and sporting events are added in the years ahead.

A better experience for sports fans

Alongside the growing database, a number of new features have been introduced to improve the overall user experience.

One of the most noticeable changes has been the redesign of key match layouts across the website. Fixtures and results pages have all been refreshed with cleaner layouts and improved mobile responsiveness, making it easier for fans to browse upcoming events and follow results.

Scores and attendance figures are now available across all major sports, allowing users to explore historical results and crowd figures across thousands of events.

The Match Centre has also been significantly enhanced, bringing together fixtures, results, attendance figures, venue information, ticket links and related content into a single destination for each event, themed with team colours. Automatic video highlights are now included for many major leagues, giving fans a convenient way to catch up on the key moments after full time.

Another unique feature introduced during the past year is support for both North American and international fixture formats. Visitors accessing StadiumSport US from within the United States automatically see fixtures displayed in the familiar Away @ Home format, while users elsewhere in the world see the more traditional Home v Away format. Users can also manually choose their preferred display format, ensuring the website feels familiar regardless of where they are located.

Behind the scenes, ongoing improvements to the custom administration platform have streamlined the management of thousands of stadiums, events and teams, making it easier to maintain and expand the database as the platform continues to grow.

Continued performance optimisation, including Cloudflare integration and infrastructure improvements, has also helped ensure the website remains fast, responsive and reliable throughout the world, particularly during periods of increased demand.

FIFA World Cup drives encouraging growth

The FIFA World Cup 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the platform to a global audience.

Across the 39-day tournament, StadiumSport US recorded strong growth compared with the preceding period, including:

  • 102% increase in page views
  • 99% increase in active users
  • 98% increase in new users
  • 93% increase in engaged sessions
  • 75% increase in advertising revenue

MetLife Stadium, host venue of the FIFA World Cup Final, became the website’s most viewed stadium page during the tournament, with fans from around the world using StadiumSport US to access stadium information, fixtures, Match Centres and venue guides.

The increased audience also translated into stronger commercial outcomes, with ticket sales and accommodation bookings through our affiliate partners increasing throughout the tournament.

Organic search performance also continued to strengthen. Google Search impressions increased by 238%, while clicks from Google Search increased by 91%. These results demonstrate the platform’s increasing visibility in search engines and provide a solid foundation for future growth.

Looking ahead

Development of StadiumSport US continues, with many of the features introduced and refined on the platform now forming the foundation of StadiumSport 2.0.

The next generation of the platform will soon roll out across both StadiumSport US and Austadiums, delivering an enhanced user experience, improved performance and a host of new features developed from the lessons learned over the past year.

StadiumSport US has become an important part of CV Media’s ongoing product development, providing an environment where new ideas and technologies can be designed, tested and refined before being rolled out more broadly. As the platform continues to grow, so too does the opportunity to build smarter tools and deliver an even better experience for sports fans.
