CV Media launches new sports website platform for community clubs

CV Media has unveiled a new website platform for community and semi-professional sports clubs, launching with the Hampton Rovers Football Club as the first implementation.

Targeted initially at Australian rules football clubs, the platform delivers a modern, professional digital presence while addressing one of the biggest challenges faced by community organisations, the ongoing management of fixtures, results and team data.

At the core of the platform is seamless integration with PlayHQ, allowing fixtures, results and ladders to automatically sync and update across the website. This removes the need for manual data entry, reduces the workload on staff and volunteers, and ensures accuracy at all times. It also creates a more engaging experience for supporters, who can easily access up-to-date information across all teams without needing to visit external platforms, driving increased traffic and engagement for clubs.

Beyond match data, the platform provides a complete digital solution. It enables the creation and promotion of news and content, strong visibility for sponsors, integrated online shop functionality, and the ability to display social media feeds, all within a clean, mobile-first and easy-to-navigate structure.

The Hampton Rovers project showcases the full capability of the platform, combining strong design with practical functionality. As one of the first community Australian rules football clubs to establish a website decades ago, Hampton Rovers continues to lead the way in digital innovation.

Importantly, the platform has been built as a scalable foundation that can be tailored to suit each club, providing a cost-effective and professional solution without the need for fully custom development from scratch. While the underlying framework is consistent, every website is individually designed and configured to reflect each club’s brand, structure and requirements. It is also built with volunteers in mind, ensuring ongoing management is simple and efficient.

The platform is built on WordPress, the world’s most widely used CMS with 43% market share, and utilises the Kadence framework to deliver a fast, modern and flexible user experience. CV Media’s PlayHQ integration works alongside the free SportsPress plugin to deliver match data directly on club websites.

While the initial launch delivers a comprehensive solution, further enhancements are already planned to continue improving the platform.

CV Media brings extensive experience in sports digital media, having worked across community clubs, the VAFA and the AFL. This experience has informed the development of a product that aligns with how clubs actually operate, balancing functionality, performance and ease of use.

Looking ahead, CV Media is also preparing to release the PlayHQ Sync WordPress plugin as a standalone product, further streamlining the integration of competition data into club websites. This will allow existing WordPress-based clubs to adopt the same automated functionality without needing a full rebuild.

The Hampton Rovers website now serves as a live example of the platform in action, demonstrating how community clubs can present themselves in a modern, professional way while reducing administrative burden and increasing engagement across players, supporters and sponsors.
